Ravendrixa Academy was founded in 2015 by a team of broadcast professionals frustrated by the gap between academic media courses and the practical skills needed to succeed in the industry. We set out to create something different: a training environment that mirrors a real broadcast facility, taught exclusively by people who are still working in the business.
From our first cohort of 8 presenting students, we've grown into a specialist academy with four professional studios, a dedicated newsroom training suite and a team of over 35 instructors drawn from the BBC, ITV, Sky, Channel 4 and the wider UK media industry.
Over 2,400 students have graduated from our programmes, with 89% finding employment in media or related fields within six months. Our NCTJ accreditation for broadcast journalism was awarded in 2018 and renewed in 2023.
Four fully equipped studios with professional cameras, lighting, autocue systems and control rooms. Students train in the same environment they'll work in professionally.
Every instructor is an active media professional — presenters, producers, camera operators and voice coaches who bring current industry knowledge to every session.
Our graduates work at the BBC, ITV, Sky, Channel 4, regional news, radio stations and digital media companies across the UK and internationally.
Our Broadcast Journalism programme carries full NCTJ accreditation, providing a recognised industry qualification alongside practical studio experience.
